From the Desk of President & Founder
Dear Student,
There are wonderful prayers in the Bible. One of the prayers we find in Paul’s letter to the church in Colossae.
“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the the
kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins” (Col. 1:9-14).
In this beautiful passage of the Scripture, Paul prays that believers would:
- Be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
- Walk worthy of the Lord,
- Fully please Him (God),
- Be fruitful in every good work and
- Increasing in the knowledge of God.
- Be strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and
- longsuffering with joy.
Tragically, we find a dire and a dreadful account in the book of Hosea for the people who lack knowledge and reject it.
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children” (Hosea 4:6).
The Global Mission Bible Institute is committed to prepare men and women for the ministry and to equip the saints for a better stewardship.
We desire and pray that our students would:
- Develop a proper balance between Knowledge and the Spirit. It is good to be reminded that: “Too much Word and not enough Spirit will puff you up. Too much of the Spirit and not enough Word would blow you up. With the Word and the Spirit together, would grow you up” (Anonymous).
- Have a heart to serve God with the calling God has placed upon them and that they would be faithful for a practical ministry in the local church or in an independent setting in cooperation with other churches.
- Have a passion for the world missions as Jesus has commanded us in Acts 1:8 that: “…. you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me (Jesus) in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
We pronounce God’s blessings upon you as you pursue your studies, aiming to equip yourself with the Word of God in order to serve Him more effectively.
